Can you tell our readers about yourself and your blog?
Hi, my name is Moumita Mallick, graduated in Bachelor of Computer Applications in 2008 and PGDM in 2010.
My blog BloggersDayOut is about SEO, Digital Media Marketing, Social Media strategies and other stuffs and tools which helps you to establish a blogging career.
Describe how did you first get into blogging?
Since my college days, I was passionate about making of websites and kinds of stuff related to Digital Marketing. But life went on and after 5 years of my corporate job I thought I should go back to the stuff which I always liked to explore.
I kept on looking for things that how can I establish my career in this field of SEO and Digital Media when gradually I came to know I can start ‘Blogging’.
How did you earn your first income online?
I started my first blog BloggersDayOut in March 2017 and after a long way, my first earning came in March 2018. So, it was exactly 1 year of my sleepless nights where I wasn’t even earning anything.
My first lump sum earning came from Google Adsense when 2 of my posts went viral. It was just at that point of time when I thought I should take my blog the next step up and can turn it into my full-time career.
How big is your team?
I have worked with few freelancers and graphics designers in the past and some virtual assistants working from around the globe but mostly I am flying solo.
Can you tell me some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?
First one would be ‘Patience’.I do not know how I actually kept calm for over a year without earning anything and yet putting all of my energy into it. The second one should be ‘Reading’.
I keep reading other blogs whether or not related to my niche as I always believe every person have got something to say which you may not know.
What type of networking do you think is better to enhance your traffic to the blog?
No Social Media can ever replace the power of organic searches. So from Day 1 of blogging start putting your SEO in the right place.
‘What type of networking’ is tough to say as it will bring the question of what type of blog you run?
Some may be suited for Instagram, while others may be suited for an active and engaged FB page.
What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to her readers?
I blog about SEO, digital marketing, affiliate marketing. So in my case, it would be transparency.
Like telling my readers how to use the Digital Media the proper way without spamming to promote your blog and business, how to make the graphics appealing to keep visitors interested and so on.
How do you manage time to run your blog efficiently?
Right now this is my full-time work. So I do it just as I would have done while being in any other offices.
Tell me about your proudest achievement in blogging?
Like seriously this is my proudest achievement in blogging (till now) which is happening right now that StartUpsIndia thinks I am good enough for their quality quotient and decided to feature my site J
Who has impacted you most in blogging and how?
When it comes to my blogging career, I would always mention Harsh Agrawal.
As I said earlier, I always wanted to do SEO, Digital Marketing based jobs on my own, and it was his blog ShoutMeLoud which I accidentally stumbled upon in 2016.
Then onwards I was reading his site day and night when I gradually started my own with the confidence that Yes, it can be done.
What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
Anybody who blogs will agree that ‘Getting website visitors’ is the most challenging part of all, which you cannot achieve in a single day. It takes time to build.
Apart from that if you ask about my personal challenges then that was when I started blogging while maintaining my Corporate Job. It was hard to get time for blogging which at least required 3-4 hours a day.
Can you name some of your favorite bloggers and explain why they are your favorites?
There are many who inspire me day in and out.
Just to name a few:
Melyssa from MelyssaGrifin.com
Darren from ProBlogger.com
Yaro from Entrepreneurs-Journey.com
They are popular names in Blogging World now, but you can relate to their initial journeys. Their journeys will inspire and motivate you to continue doing the work which you enjoy.
What is the biggest difference in your life post-blogging?
Blogging for me has been a lifestyle alteration.
I do not have to ask for leaves from my office: PI can work late at night or pretty early morning. That depends on me.I am setting my own strategic plans or goals without asking for approvals.
If you are blogging solo then it’s depressing at times as you will miss the human interactions. You will start missing your cubicles and your good/bad colleagues :)But of course, you cannot have the good of both of the world together.
How much time do you spend blogging?
I do not have any definite answer for that but mostly it’s between 8-10 hours. More than I blog, I study other informative blogs to keep my blog growing.
If you don’t mind can you share your revenue statistics for our readers and source of income?
I have already sent my income report to StartUpsIndia but, I would not feel very comfortable in sharing my revenue here, at this point of my blog career but can say it is somewhat like a Senior IT Project Manager in general.
Right now I am working with MediaVine Company which accounts for 90% of my earrings.10% is from Affiliate Marketing which I have just started.
What do you think about startupsindia.in?
StartUpsIndia is doing a fantastic job in motivating young bloggers and entrepreneurs. Companies who share different young entrepreneurial journey are truly inspiring.
